As every year, you can see the events which I’ll attend over the year on this page. Of course I’d love to visit every event but due to lack of time and money I have to choose wisely. Events marked with an * symbol are not confirmed yet.

Anno Domini

DoKomi30. Apr & 01. Mai

The DoKomi is an anime convention with around 12,000 visitors over two days. Besides focusing on the topics of modern japanese culture like Anime, Manga, Cosplay and Games, DoKomi also includes various traditional aspects such as workshops and performances. Some of the highlights are Germanys first Maid Café “Lucky Chocolate”, the unique Host Club “Sweet Spice” and an exclusive Cosplay Ball among lot’s of other activities. As you can see, DoKomi trys to improve a bit each year and to offer innovative concepts to ensure it’s visitors having fun. In 2016 the DoKomi expands into an additional exhibition hall (20.000m²).

Nippon Connection24. – 29. Mai

Throughout six festival days the biggest festival for Japanese film worldwide will once again present more than 100 short and long feature films, including many German, European, and world premieres. The program consists of independent films as well as blockbusters, anime, and documentaries. Numerous filmmakers and artists from Japan will visit the festival to present their works in person. The accompanying cultural program is just as diverse as the film program: workshops, lectures, panel discussions, performances, exhibitions, and a Japanese market with delicious food…

Japan Expo Paris*07. – 10. Jul

Japan Expo is THE place to be for all fans of Japan and its culture, from manga to martial arts, from video games to folk culture, from J-music to traditional music: a must event for all those interested in Japan culture and endless discoveries for novices. And only 30 minutes away from Paris!

Animagic*29. – 31. Jul

You love anime, manga, J-Culture and cosplay? Then it’s on to AnimagiC that has evolved over the past 15 years with around 15,000 visitors at the event weekend to the biggest J-culture convention in Germany!

With a colorful, spectacular program and high profile guests of honor from the international anime, manga, game and music industry, the AnimagiC has established itself as a real magnet for fans who arrive from all over Europe to Bonn (GER).

Connichi16. – 18. Sep

The Connichi is a voluntary organized event with a focus on anime, manga and Japanese popular and youth culture – in short, an anime manga convention. It takes place annually in September in the Kongress Palais Kassel (GER) and the premises of the adjoining hotel Ramada City Centre and is held with currently 24,000 visitors over three days, the largest of its kind from the series of events of the carrier association Animexx e.V. and in the total German-speaking countries.
